A Christmas Cookie Blessing

My Practically Domestic daughter and I put together these "Oatmeal-Chip Cookie mix in a jar" gifts
over the weekend, they make great gifts for those aunts and cousins and In laws.
We attached this poem to each jar, cut a cover out of some left over material we had and added a ribbon, and had the perfect little gift with a blessing.
A Christmas Cookie Blessing
May your cookie jar always be half full-
Because you've shared some with your family.
May you have good friends
with whom to share most of the rest.
But in the middle of the night
When you cannot sleep,
May there always be two left
For when you chat with the Almighty.

Here's the recipe;
2/3 cup all purpose flour                                          3/4 cup semi sweet choc. chipe

1/2 tsp. baking soda                                                 or butterscotch chips
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon                                         1 1/2 cups quick or old fashion oats

1/4 tsp. salt                                                                1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup sugar

Combine flour,baking soda, cinnamon and salt in small bowl. Place flour mixture in 1 quart jar.
Layer remaining ingredients in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer.  Seal with lid and decorate with fabric.

Recipe to attach to jar;
Beat 1/2 cup butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 1/2 tsp. vanilla in large mixer bowl until
blended.  Add cookie mix, mix well, breaking up any large clumps.  Drop by rounded
tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 375 F. oven for 8 to 10 min.
Here's Mollie giving her blessing as well.
